The project comes three months since the network ordered a second season of Harjo and Taika Waititi’s hit coming-of-age comedy, which recently won a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series.

The untitled heist thriller is being developed as a limited series, with Harjo attached to direct from a screenplay that he will co-write bestselling novelist Jonathan Lee. It will be executive produced by Harjo and Dive’s Garrett Basch. Harjo has primarily directed films that focus on Native Americans and are set in his home state of Oklahoma. His directorial feature credits are Mekko and Barking Water.

Reservation Dogs centers around the lives of four Native American teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime… and fighting it. It stars newcomers D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor.
