Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen resists Newcastle approach

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has resisted an attempt from Newcastle United.

Sport says Newcastle hope to be one of the big players on the transfer market after recently being taken over by a Saudi Arabian investment fund. Between now and January, a mountain of players will be linked with the Magpies.

That's already been the case for Ter Stegen, who received an offer in the name of the English side recently.

Ter Stegen's surprise -- he didn't listen to the offer -- was that Newcastle still have no sporting infrastructure in place yet.
