Barcelona's re-signing of Daniel Alves has been questioned.

Speaking with El Larguero, journalist Antonio Romero can't see Alves making an impact given his age.

He said, "What about Alves as a joy in the dressing room sounds like a joke.

"Signing a semi-retired footballer to give joy from the outside sounds like a joke. Xavi will have something in his head to have said yes. Because in theory he has come with the powers to have said that no.

"What message is Xavi sending to (Sergino) Dest, Sergi Roberto and (Oscar) Mingueza? If this signing is done by Real Madrid, in Spain they are messing around. If any other coach had brought Alves, it would not look the same."
