You know African parents sees hitting their children with cane as the best way to discipline them when they do wrong.

Some inflict injuries on their children in the process, all in the name of discipline.

Oyinbo no dey flog their children but their children manage to grow into adults that are able to turn out well, organize themselves and run functional societies that benefit majority of them.

We Africans on the other hand believe that flogging our children and teenagers will make them better adults when they grow up, but our society is filled with adults that don’t know how to organize themselves and run a functional society.

In my opinion, hitting a child with cane is wrong. Not only does hitting kids do little good; it can worsen their long-term behavior.

Children who experience repeated use of corporal punishment tend to develop more aggressive behaviors, increased aggression in school, and an increased risk of mental health disorders and cognitive problems.
