Shehu Sani Reacts As Bandits Abduct 73 Students In Zamfara

Shehu Sani, former Kaduna lawmaker has condemned the kidnap of students of Government secondary school in Kaya, Zamfara State.

WAPLOADED reported that gunmen suspected to be bandits on Wednesday attacked a Secondary School in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State and abducted 73 students.

Mohammed Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the attack was carried out on the school at about 11:22 am by a large number of bandits.

He urged relatives of the students to be patient, adding the Commissioner, Ayuba Elkanah had deployed search and rescue team to work in synergy with the military to free the students.

Reacting, Sani described the news as tragic, even as he condoled with the victims and their families.

The former lawmaker on his Twitter page wrote:

“It’s tragic to hear that 73 students were kidnapped from the Government Day Secondary School Kaya in Maradun LG, Zamfara state.

“My thoughts and prayers for the victims.”

Zamfara is one of the states in the northern part of Nigeria which has witnessed a surge in insecurity recently as bandits continue to attack schools and abduct students for ransom.
