After taking their marital bust-up to social media and wrongly involving Anthony Joshua in their issues, British boxer, Amir Khan and his estranged wife Faryal Makhdoom, have gone to a spiritual leader in a bid to save their marriage.


Spiritual leader Pir Saqib Shaami recently visited Khan at his Bolton home to provide guidance following his split with his fashion blogger wife.

And on Tuesday, the spiritual leader also met with the boxer’s parents for 90 minutes at his Birmingham base to negotiate a reunion for the troubled couple. But he refused to see Faryal privately because it was “against the teachings of Islam” for him to meet her without another man present.

Faryal recently confirmed in a tweet that she is in touch with him, before quickly deleting it.


It said: “I respect & trust Shaykh Saqib Shaami as much as Amir does. He has not been biased previously & will do justice. I also respect Shaykh Saqib Shaamis Islamic position of not meeting women to stop spreading false rumours on social media”.


According to reports, the spiritual leader is due to host a meeting between them to encourage them to “try again”.
