Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid for preseason

Gareth Bale has returned to Real Madrid preseason training.

The 32-year-old has an uncertain future at the club after a season-long loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur last year failed to materialise into a permanent transfer.

Now, Bale is back working under Carlo Ancelotti, who was his coach for his first two years at Real Madrid.

"Gareth hasn't played a lot [at Tottenham], but he has scored a lot of goals," Ancelotti said during his first press conference since being reappointed as head coach.

"I know him very well and he is coming back. If he has the motivation to play he can have a good season, I have no doubt."
