West Ham hoping to use Anderson sale to fund Rice extension
West Ham United are hoping to secure Declan Rice to a new contract thanks to the money they received from the sale of Felipe Anderson.
Rice, who starred for England at Euro 2020 as a defensive midfielder, is wanted by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, The Sun reports that West Ham will offer Rice a mega new contract to convince him to commit to the club for the long term.
Anderson was on £100,000-a-week with the Hammers and that money could go directly towards renewing Rice.
What is unclear is whether the player would accept the offer, as it would mean a move to a top Premier League club is all but impossible in the next couple of summer transfer windows.
