Manchester City have made an approach to Southampton for Danny Ings.
Football Insider reports City have registered their interest in Ings.
Striker Ings has rejected a new contract at Southampton and can leave for free next summer. Southampton are willing to keep him, but would also expect offers for a player who is proven in the Premier League.
Now City have enquired about Ings as they look to sign at least one senior striker this summer.
Manager Pep Guardiola sees Ings as an 'expert' in the penalty area, as he seeks to fill the void left by new Barcelona signing Sergio Aguero.
