The executive governor of Delta State, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa has celebrated the veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD as he turns 60 today.
RMD beyond acting is known to have occupied the position of the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism under the administration of the former Delta state governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
In a statement given by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, the governor described RMD as an individual who has contributed greatly to the movie industry.
He also hailed RMD for his positive impacts on the lives of Nigerian youths, while describing him as a role model worthy of emulation.
The statement reads:
“As one of the doyens of movie acting, you have bought great honour and glory to our dear state, Delta. We are proud of your many achievements in the movie and entertainment industry,”
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate an illustrious son of the state, Mr Richard Mofe-Damijo, aka RMD on his 60th birthday.”
“As you turn 60, your family, associates and admirers, have cause to be grateful to Almighty God for having granted you a life of wonderful accomplishments."
