Roma coach Mourinho goes for released Man Utd keeper Romero
Roma coach Jose Mourinho is planning a move for released Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Romero has spent the last six months picking up his £70,000-a-week wages back in Buenos Aires after being told by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he was surplus to requirements.
But Mourinho – the manager who played him in United's 2017 Europa League triumph over Ajax – now wants to take him to Italy after being named Roma's new boss.
Romero, 36, also has offers from Boca Juniors and Racing Club in his homeland.
But he is tempted to link-up again with Mourinho, having enjoyed his four-year spell with Serie A rivals Sampdoria before moving to United in 2015.
