Eric D. Thomas (born 3rd September 1970) also known as ET, hip hop preacher, is an American renowned motivational speaker, minister and author. He has appeared on fox news and some of his sermons have been used as the intro for the likes of Disclosure’s album and MeekMill album.

Early Life

Eric Thomas was born on September 3, 1970 on Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Detroit, Michigan with his single mother.

He had also dropped out of high school and lived homeless on the street of Detroit for two years. He was inspired by a preacher he met on the street to go back to school and change lives.

He attended Oakwood University and graduated im 2001.

He also obtained a masters degree from Michigan State University in 2005 and a PhD in Education Administration in 2015.

Career

Thomas had worked with Michigan State University as an academic adviser in 2003.

He served as senior pastor at A Place of Change Ministries (APOC Ministries).

He became a preacher and motivational speaker and founded a company to offer education consulting, executive coaching and athletic development. He has been able to dish out motivational speech to collegiate and professional athletes alike.

He has also appeared om Fox news to discuss work and some of his sermons can be heard on the intro of the producer Disclosure’s 2013 album, Settle.

Personal Life

Eric Thomas met his wife, De-De Mosley, at the Detroit center Seventh-Day Adventist Church. They moved to Huntsville, Alabama and attended Oakwood University and got married as college students.
