Uzoamaka Doris Aniunoh, also fondly called Uzor is a popular Nollywood actor and writer who has remained active cast member of MTV Shuga, appearing in several series including the first and the sixth.

She was born April 10 in Onitsha, in Anambra State to the parents of Patrick Aniunoh, a trader and Francisca Aniunoh a school teacher. Year of her birth is however not known.

Educational Background

Aniunoh is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

In 2015, she moved to the UK where she did additional studies in Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham, obtaining a master’s degree.

Acting Career

Uzoamaka returned to Nigeria in 2017 to make a career in acting. Prior to this development, she was a writer, sharing thoughts and daily experiences which then transformed into a reality blog back in 2014.

She had series of open auditions for a new series named MTV Shuga and eventually emerged one of the few actors chosen and played the role of Cynthia.

Aniunoh also featured in series 6 of MTV Shuga and the role of “Cynthia” was included when it went into a mini-series titled MTV Shuga. The series was written by Tunde Aladese and had the backing of the United Nations.

The series was based in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire, aired every night and the story has on-line conversations on location between the characters. The series had the cast of talented stars like Lerato Walaza, Mamarumo Marokane, Jemima Osunde, Folu Storms and Aniunoh.

Aniunoh’s brilliant performance earned her roles in subsequent movies. She has since starred in several Nollywood movies and television series, including:

The talented star has worked with top Nollywood celebrities like Timini Egbuson, Rahama Sadau, Yakubu Mohammed, Bukola Oladipupo, Helena Nelson, Ruby Akabueze and many others.

Recently, Aniunoh was listed one of the Nigerian actresses to watch in 2021 by Nigerian Entertainment Today.

Aside acting, Aniunoh is also a good writer with good number of publications to her credit. An excerpt from her work, Balcony was edited and published by the Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Her writings focus on family, loss and society. Most of her stories have also been published in different online platforms.

Uzoamaka’s marital status is not known. She is however believed to be in a relationship which she has not disclosed to the public or social media.
