She was alleged to be in possession of a stolen baby and three AK 47 rifles at Abule Ado bridge near Festac.

A statement by Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, said a preliminary investigation showed that the victim had lived in the area for several years before she was lynched.

The Command said the woman was murdered for reasons best known to the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

“No baby and AK 47 rifles were found in her possession neither were they recovered by the perpetrators or the police. It’s just a clear case of murder”,

The spokesman noted.

The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has ordered that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba.

Odumosu declared that the culprits will be arrested and charged to court for murder.

He said jungle justice was inhumane, criminal and detrimental to smooth Administration of Criminal Justice in Lagos and in Nigeria.
