5. PentHauze

Phyno has done a good job with Penthazue. Though hasn't been able to push all his stars to stardom, he has gradually turned Cheque into a reputable brand.

4. Marlian Music

It's quite surprising how Naira Marley has been able to build a reputable brand in the Nigerian music scene when everyone thought he is not good enough to run a label. The controversial rapper has gone on to sign, develop and market new stars like Mohbad, Zinoleesky, and others.

Today, Marlian music is surely one of the biggest record labels in Nigeria.

3. YBNL

In 2012, Nigerian rapper, Olamide launched his own record label which he called YBNL. The record label which is an acronym for 'Yahoo Boys No Laptop' was playfully formed by the rapper but has gone on to become one of the biggest record labels in Nigeria.

The label has produced a host of talents including, Fireboy DML, Lyta, Adekunle Gold , etc.

2. DMW

Davido Music Worldwide is surely one of the best record labels in Nigeria as far as music management is concerned. They have the necessary funds and connections to market their talents. Davido who discovered Mayorkun in 2016 launched his own imprint 'Davido Music Worldwide' almost immediately.

Davido has gone on to add talents like Idowest, Yonda, Dremo, Peruzzi , etc to his record label.

1. Mavin Records

Michael Collins aka Don Jazzy is one of the biggest record label executives in Nigeria. His imprint, Mavin Records has now added two subsidiary labels 'JONZING wORLD and 'BLOWTIME ENTERTAINMENT' making it the first indigenous record label to have an imprint.

The record received a multi-million naira investment from Kupanda Holdings, giving the label the required financial muscle to retain its spot as one of the Biggest and Richest records in the country.

The Mavin records structure for me is something mindblowing.
