Memry Savanhu, also fondly called Memory Savanhu, is a Zimbabwean national born Nollywood actress, movie producer and entrepreneur currently based in Lagos, Nigeria after her relocation from London, UK.

Savanhu was born and raised in Zimbabwe. She hails from Zezuru community of Zimbabwe.

Educational Background

Savanhu studied drama in London. She also trained at the New York Film Academy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate (UAE) where she studied filmmaking.

Career

Savanhu made her debut in the movie, ‘Distance Between’, in 2008.

She has so far starred in a number of Nollywood movies, some of which are:

Savanhu has also featured in the popular tv series, Soap Opera Drama (Lagos Catwalk).

Memry Savanhu is the founder of Memkay Productions, a film production outfit located in Lagos which has produced several of her movies.

The versatile and talented movie producer had her earliest film production directed by Izu Ojukwu titled, ‘Distance Between’ in 2008 featuring Nollywood celebrities like Rita Dominic, Mercy Johnson, Kalu Ikeagwu and Yemi Blaq.

Other movies produced by Savanhu include One Fine Day, Cougars Reloaded, Catwalq and On Bended Knees.

Savanhu has in the course of her career nominated for a number of awards, notably as:

• 2014 Nominee in the “Best Actor UK Female” category of the Global Zulu African Academy Awards (ZAFAA), held in London, UK for her role in the film, Maria’s Vision.

• 2015 Nominee for the Zimbabwe International Women’s Awards (ZIWA) held in Birmingham, UK in recognition for her contribution to the development of Nollywood.
