Buju with the real name as Daniel Benson is a Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter born in 1988. He rose to fame with the release of the remix to his single “Lenu” featuring Burna Boy.
Early Life & Background
Buju was born in 1988 in Lagos and originally hails from Akwa Ibom State part of Nigeria.
He grew up in Gbagada area of Lagos before his family moved to Ogun State.
Career
The aspiring music star developed passion for music at a very early age. He had adopted the name Drizzle while in Junior secondary school before he later changed it to Buju.
He was inspired with music influences from the likes of Burna Boy, Damian Marley, Buju Banton, J Hus and so on.
He came through with his first single titled “Catch a Vibe” in February 2016 and this was also followed up with another record titled “A Day in Lagos”.
He got signed to Spaceship records on April 16, 2020, a record label which is already a home to the Afro-beat Nigerian music star, Burna Boy.
He gained more exposure after the remix of his single “Lenu” alongside Burna Boy.
