Omah Lay VS Bella Shmurda, Who Is Better?

Popular Nigerian singer and music producer, Stanley Omah Didi also known as Omah Lay was on February 21, 2021 crowned the most promising in Nigeria by Headies. The Port Harcourt born artist claimed the Headies Next Rated award ahead of Bella Shmurda, Tems and Oxlade. Omah Lay is surely a big name in the game. The youngster has done so much for himself in a short while. Linking up with Wizkid, dominating the Nigerian apple music chart for months and having a wide audience in even in other countries in Africa. Omah Lay surely deserved the award as many will agree with me but being better than the likes of Oxlade, Tems and Bella Shmurda could be questionable. The rising star had an amazing year during the global lockdown in 2020. He dropped two solid projects Get Layd and What Have We Done and is still topping charts with Godly off his recently released project.

Bella Shmurda formally known as Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed is a Nigerian musician whose music has been an inspiration to many. Bella became popular following the release of his debut single Vision 2020 in 2018. He later remixed the song with Olamide in 2019 just before releasing hi debut project High Tension in 2020. Bella also featured on Olamie's Carpe Diem album on a song titled Triumphant. He has been the guy behind hit songs like Cash App featuring Zlatan. Though the song was heavily attacked by many who labeled it an appraisal for internet fraud, it was arguably the biggest song in Nigeria at the time of it's release.

Though Omah Lay won the award at the Headies, many still believe Bella Shmurda is a better artist to him. Omah Lay and Bella are both singers but they produce music for different audience. Omah Lay does cool beach vibes with amazing vocals and flawless melodies while Bella Shmurda shuttles between lamba and motivational tunes both for the streets. We believe even though these two have a different audience and style of music, their crafts can still be paired and measured against each other.

We won't want to pick sides or make this about numbers as we believe numbers doesn't only determine the biggest and not the best. So we will let you guys choose. Let us know is a better artist between Omah Lay and Bella Shmurda.
