Daniel Craig's final James Bond movie No Time To Die has been delayed again, with the film now slated to hit theaters in October 2021. Craig took over the role of 007 in 2006 with the release of Casino Royale and reprised the role as the elite spy in three sequels. He announced sometime after Spectre's release that he would return to the role once more, and a lengthy director search eventually brought Cary Joji Fukunaga aboard to helm No Time To Die.

As the conclusion of the Craig-era of James Bond films, there was plenty of anticipation for the movie's release heading into 2020. The movie was slated to be in theaters by April and was expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced the studios to delay No Time To Die multiple times before landing on an April 2021 release date. While there was hope that this would finally be when the movie is released, the pandemic has once again forced another delay.

The official James Bond Twitter account confirmed the news today that No Time To Die has been pushed to October 2021. The most recent release date was April 2, 2021, but now MGM and Eon have once again decided to delay the release. No Time To Die's new release date is October 8, 2021.

This marks the fourth release date change for No Time To Die, and the third delay caused by the pandemic. While most believed the world would be closer to normal by now and make the April 2021 release a safe time to put the movie in theaters, that unfortunately is not the reality of the world. This latest delay came on the heels of reports noting that No Time To Die would likely be delayed again. The final Craig Bond movie is the latest blockbuster to move out of the 2021 summer season, and at this rate it probably won't be the last.

As disappointing as it is that No Time To Die's release is now another six months away, the multiple delays are the result of the studios trying to ensure the film has the chance to be a box office success. There have been multiple reports that streaming services like Apple and Netflix have offered hundreds of millions of dollars to buy No Time To Die and release it digitally. However, the studios have so far shown not shown any interest in this option unless someone is willing to pay around $600 million for it. Since the current estimation is vaccines will be widely distributed well before October, hopefully this is the last delay No Time To Die receives.
