Owumi Ugbeye is a popular fast rising Nigerian actress known for her role as Bikiya in the MTV Base series “Shuga”.
Owumi was born to an actress mother, Tosan Ugbeye, who she described as a coach, trainer and a mother. She had her up-bringing in Lagos.
Owumi had her primary and secondary education at Pampers Private school, Queens College Lagos and RISS Maryland respectively.
She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Benin, Nigeria.
Upon graduation, Owumi made a career in acting and remained very active and relevant in the Nigerian movie industry.
Owumi began her acting career professionally in 2013.
She starred in a hit movie, “Stolen Lives” which premiered on Ozone Cinema in Yaba, Lagos. In the movie, Owumi played the role of Amarachi, a young and naive secondary school student who was raped by her friend’s lover at his birthday party. She became pregnant and was rejected by her parents.
Added to her woes was that the rapist threatened her life as she refused to disclose his identity and her parents felt she betrayed their trust.
Owumi is indeed beautiful, creative, skillful and highly talented Nollywood star, known for good interpretation of roles in movies. She is known for her unique way of impressing her numerous fans and movie producers and directors in the industry.

Owumi is still very single and not yet married. She revealed in an interview that she has no boy friend but looks up to her ideal man to have the qualities of a good height, dark complexion, handsome, good job, has ambition and well driven.
Owumi concluded that her aspiration is to have more jobs, more series and hopefully a nomination in the future.
