Ndivhuwo Elaine Mukheli with the stage name as simply Elaine, is a South African singer and songwriter born on April 2, 1999. She became the most streamed South African artist on Spotify in March, 2020.
Elaine is a versatile singer with music genres of trap-soul, contemporary R&B, alternative R&B and neo-soul.
She has also been credited with lots of collaborations and amazing extended plays.
Elaine Mukheli was born on April 2, 1999 in Pretoria, Gaugeng.
She started studying law at University of the Witwatersand in 2018 and had stated that she was part of the University’s Golden Key Honour Society in November 2019.
Elaine began her career with the school choir at the age of six where she also took part in numerous talent competitions.
She began writing her own songs while in high school and was able to develop her passion for the craft with music influence from the likes of Beyonce and Lauryn Hill.
Mukheli came through with her debut single “Slip Away” which was released on Soundcloud in February 2019 before making it official in April 2019.
She followed it up with the single “I Just Wanna Know” as released in August 2019.
Elaine released her debut extended play “Elements” on September 29, 2019. The EP comprises of 7 tracks with production assistance from the likes of Clxrity and Elizee.
Her project “Elements” was nominated for Soul Album of the Year at the South African Music Awards 2020.
