Vimbainashe Ashleghly Zimuto popularly known as Vimabi Zimuto, is a Zimbabwean musician, choreographer and scriptwriter born on October 19, 1983.
She has been able to make a mark with her diversity and versatility from visual to fine and performance art.
Aside her amazing vocals, she plays numerous musical instrument which include the Drums, Marimba and Percussion.
Early Life & Background
Vimabi Zimuto was born and raised in Zengeza, Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. She’s based in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
She is the first born in a family of two children; a boy and a girl.
She attended Zengeza 8 primary School and Zengenza High School for her primary and secondary education respectively.
Zimuto started doing music at a tender of 6 where she began playing with her school’s percusiion band. She also joined the traditional dance group and the school choir.
Her first musical instrument is Tambourine. She also played the Mbira, traditional Zimbabwean instrument.
As a dancer, she’s well known for her skills in Zimbabwean traditional dances which include; Dinhe, Mbakumba, Chokoto, Shangara, Chinyambera and Jerusarema.
She had worked in several projects and ttok part in music programmes such as UMOJA Cultural Flying Carpet in 2006, Zimbabwe Music Crossroads competitions, Pamberi Trust ‘Sisters Open Mic’, backing vocalist for Oliver Mtukudzi from 2007 to 2010, ‘Daughters of Africa’ tour in the Netherlands.
As a music artist, Vimbai has two albums to her credit which include; Kure Kwemeso (2015) and Hapana Kwaunoenda (2018).

Vimabi Zimuto already boasts of numerous nominations such as; Starfm music awards nominee (2018 and 2018) and Zimbabweanmusic awards nominee (2019).
