Nafisat Abdulrahman Abdullahi also known as Nafisat Abdullahi. She is a Nigerian Actress, Producer, Director, Professional Photographer and entrepreneur.
She was born on the 23rd of January 1992 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Nafisat is the fourth daughter of Abdulrahman Abdullahi who is an automobile dealer and an elder statesman. She hails from Jos, Plateau State.
Nafisat had her primary and secondary education at the Air Force Private School Jos, Plateau State and Government Girl Secondary School, Dutse, Abuja for her first and secondary school certificates respectively.
She later went to the University of Jos where she bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. She is currently studying Photography in London School of Photography, UK.
Nafisat began her movie career at the age of 18 with FKD Production as her first movie, where she first appeared in Sai Wata Rana in 2010 produced and directed by award-winning actor and director Ali Nuhu.
She was shot to fame in movie world when she played her first leading role in Sai Wata Rana as a leading actress. Her appearances in Ahlul Kitab and Dan Marayan Zaki in 2012 shot Nafisat’s career to an unimaginable heights in Kannywood and Nollywood.
In 2012, Nafisat appeared in Blood and Henna, a Nigerian film directed by Kenneth Gyang alongside Ali Nuhu and Sadiq Sani Sadiq and subsequently received 6 nominations at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards and won Best Costume Design.
She starred in the hit movies, ‘Lamiraj’ in 2013 and ‘Ya Daga Allah’ in 2014, both directed by Aminu Saira, which won her awards as Best Actress.
She is also a business woman and founder of Nahaz Brand Boutique, Grand Tailors tailoring services company, a film production company known as Nafs Entertainment Ltd, where she produced and directed her two hit movies Guguwar So(2016) and Yaki a Soyayya (2018).
Nafisat is a versatile young woman, creative and highly talented actress. The hardworking Kannywood star is currently pursuing another career abroad in photography.
In 2013, she was invited to Berlin International Film Festival. Nafisat is one of the only two attendees from Nigeria alongside a Nollywood cinematographer. She also attended Nollywood festivals in Atlanta, Scotland, and presently the most outstanding Kannywood actress to receive several awards and the first female to be endorsed by MTN Nigeria.
In June 2013, she was suspended by a disciplinary committee of Arewa Filmmakers Association of Nigeria for failing to appear before the committee after being summoned for organizing a banned event by the followers of the Hausa movie industry.
She was handed two years suspension by the disciplinary committee which was lifted in August 2013 before she came up with Star in Aminu Saira’s Kalamu Wahid and ‘Ya Daga Allah in 2014.
