Ajuma Nasenyana is a Kenyan fashion model born on January 14, 1985. She is a supermodel with numerous accolades.
Ajuma was crowned Miss Nairobi in 2013 and was voted among the world’s beautiful women by Complex magazine in August 2005.
She was also named AFI African Fashion Internationals, Africa Fashion Week Model of the Year in 2012.
Early Life & Background
Nasenyana was born in Lodwar, Turkana district of Kenya.
She completed her studies at Greensteds International School.
She started her modelling career after she entered into the Miss Tourism Kenya competition.
She caught the attention of the Gamma Photo Agency when they came to Kenya to do a story on Mclntyre’s scouting work and she became the feature of the story which later ran in France’s Gala magazine.
However, the pictures taken were compiled into a portfolio and presented to Ford Models.
She participated in the new York Fashion Week alongside Naomi Campbell and also model for Ungaro.
Ever since she came to limelight, she has featured in several magazine editorials and also worked for top designers including Victoria Secret and Carlos Mienes
Aside modeling, She has been known for her campaign against skin bleaching and as a remedy she expressed her interest in launching a cosmetics and natural skin care line for dark skinned women.
Ajuma met her husband, Gustav Ericson at the age of 15 and now their union is blessed with two sons.
