He was born on October 30, 1958 in Lagos State. Bimbo had his up-bringing in Lagos.

He later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt.

He began his television career in 1985 as a broadcaster at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC).
