Man Utd Hope Defender Telles Will Face West Brom After Negative Covid-19 Test
Manchester United remain hopeful Alex Telles will be available for Saturday’s match against West Brom after the defender tested negative for Covid-19.
Reports suggested the Brazilian had tested positive over the weekend while on international duty.
However, the Brazilian Football Confederation said the 27-year-old will travel with the squad on Tuesday after returning a second negative test.
United earlier said they would “make an assessment” when he returned.
In a statement released before Telles’ negative test was confirmed, the club said:
“It is still hoped he will be available to play in Saturday’s Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford.”
Telles joined United from Porto on a four-year contract in October, before testing positive for coronavirus later in the month.
