Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) team up against Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in some incredible new Captain America fan art. Captain America—affectionately known as "Cap"—has long been one of the staples of the MCU. However, an elderly Steve passes on the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, after using time travel to live out his life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

The bond between Steve and Bucky is easily one of the most important friendships within the MCU. Steve and Bucky fought together against HYDRA in Captain America: The First Avenger. Although Steve believes that his best friend is killed towards the end of the film, he later learns that Bucky has been brainwashed by HYDRA and is still alive. From that point on, Steve continues to fight for Bucky at every turn, even going against members of the Avengers to stand beside his friend.

Their rock-solid friendship is captured in stunning Captain America fan art by apexform that shows Steve and Bucky squaring off against another classic Marvel character: Deadpool. While both Steve and Bucky are facing away from the camera, Steve's iconic shield is clearly visible. Deadpool has landed in a crouch across from the duo, where he holds a gun in each hand. You can check out apexform's new creation—and what will undeniably be the fight of the century—below:

The crass, vulgar, and fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool remains one of Marvel's most popular heroes. Deadpool's rapid healing abilities mean he's survived everything from deadly shootouts to being blown up. To that end, the anti-hero is willing to jump into just about any scenario with his trademark humor and maddening nonchalance. While a fight against Steve and Bucky would be nothing short of suicidal, Deadpool is probably one of the few characters who's crazy enough to take both heroes on.

While there's no denying Steve and Bucky's friendship, there has been some controversy about the end of Avengers: Endgame. More specifically, many fans were certain that Steve would give his shield to Bucky, rather than Sam. Yet actor Sebastian Stan has spoken up about this decision and affirmed that he feels it's for the best. That being said, while Bucky may not be Captain America, fans can continue to follow his adventures in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The MCU might feel a little different without seeing Steve and Bucky together on screen, but apexform's art makes it clear that both characters will still live on in Marvel lore.
