Will #ENDSARS protests affect Wizkid's "Made in Lagos" album? (Let's Talk)

Sometime in 2017, just after the release of his third studio album "Sounds From The Other Side", Wizkid announced he will dropping his fourth studio album tagged "Made in Lagos".

Wizkid first used the phrase "Made in Lagos" in an interview with DJ Semtex that was published in February 2017. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid claimed the unreleased album will be his best body of work. He also claimed the album will be a Wizkid exclusive project with no features back in 2018.

On January 3, 2019, Wizkid took to his social media handles to announce he will be taking a break from music. The Nigerian pop singer made us believe he needed some rest just before dishing out the highly anticipated album only for him to return towards the end of the year with two singles "Ghetto Love" and "Joro".

Afterward, Wizkid under his Starboy Entertainment imprint, dished out a seven tracks extended play tagged "Soundman Vol. 1" on December 6, 2020. The EP featured Blaq Jerzee, Kel P, London, Chronixx, and DJ Tunez. The critically acclaimed project was released without any announcement. The "Made in Lagos" still didn't drop in 2019 up until 2020 when Wizkid only shared the cover art and tracklist of the album. The singer premiered two singles off the album "Smile" featuring American songstress, H.E.R., and "No Stress".

Even after announcing October 15, 2020, as the release date of the highly anticipated album, Wizkid has now postponed the release of the 14-track "Made in Lagos" album as the result of the violent #ENDSARS protests that have claimed several lives within the four walls of the country. Citizens of Nigeria are allegedly being murdered by the country's armed forces for protesting against police brutality.

Do you think #ENDSARS protests will affect Wizkid's "Made in Lagos" album? (Let's Talk)

On October 13, 2020, Wizkid took to his Twitter handle to hint at the postponement of the album. The album that was already ready for pre-order on apple music has been postponed by Wizkid to an unconfirmed date. Will the heat going on around the protest catalyzed by Wizkid, do you think it will affect the success of his fourth studio album. Will fans stream his album the more when it drops or will it be heavily criticized for poor lyrics as his previous works have been.
