Ricardo Iván Rodríguez Araya is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a left back for Serie A club Torino and the Switzerland national team. He has been described as an accomplished defender and is noted for his strong heading ability, and ability to deliver pinpoint crosses. 

Early Life & Career

Ricardo Rodriguez was born in Zunich, Switzerland in August 1992. He is a left back who played for FC Schwamendingen and Zurich during his youth career. Rodriguez made his senior debut for Zurich and played there from 2010 to 2012. He played for VfL Wolfsburg from 2012 to 2017, scoring 15 goals in 149 appearances. Ricardo Rodriguez joined Milan in 2017 and was loaned to PSV in 2010. He has also represented Switzerland at the under-17, under-18, under-19, under-23, and senior levels. Ricardo Rodriguez won the DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Supercup with VfL Wolfsburg. He won the FIFA U-17 World Cup with Switzerland and was named the FC Zurich Fans' Player of the Season. His brothers Roberto and Francisco are also soccer players.
