In 1981, a shining star was born in the ancient city of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Owen Omogiafo has her descent from Benin City, where she also had her primary, secondary, and university education. Her parents taught her to know that a good name is better than riches. That simple principle has been a guide in her life’s journey.
Educational Background
Owen Omogiafo obtained a B.Sc. degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin and an M.Sc. degree in Human Resources from London School of Economics and Political Science.
In addition, she is a Harvard trained executive, a certified Change Manager, from Prosci Institute, USA, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, UK.
Owen Omogiafo Career
Mrs. Owen commenced her career as the relationship manager of the bond bank in 2003. In 2004, she became the HP consultant at Accenture and left to become the HR Advisor of the United Bank for Africa in 2008.
Subsequently, in 2010, Owen Omogiafo became the HR Director of Heirs Holdings Ltd and later became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Tony Elumelu Foundation.
In 2018, Mrs. Owen left the foundation to assume the role of Executive Director at the Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp Plc). Once again, Owen Omogiafo attained a great feat in her career.
On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, Transcorp Plc announced her as the new President/GCEO of the company. Owen Omogiafo has proven beyond doubt that hard work and consistency truly pa. Her appointment would take effect from the 25th of March 2020.
