Antonio Rudiger Has Rejected The Opportunity To Join West Ham
The German international, 27, is available for loan having fallen out of favour at current club Chelsea. However a bid by West Ham to bring him to Stratford for the rest of the season was rejected by the player, writes The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg.
The west London club are seeking to offload a number of players ahead of Monday’s night’s 11pm transfer deadline with Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marcos Alonso, and Victor Moses all tipped to move on.
Rudiger has been linked with a string of clubs across Europe including Milan, Roma and fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham in recent weeks.
West Ham are understood to have approached Chelsea following Sunday lunchtime’s 3-0 win at Leicester, having failed to land any of manager David Moyes preferred players.
Moves for Burnley’s England international James Tarkowski, Napoli centre half Nikola Maksimovic, St Etienne’s Wesley Fofana (who joined Leicester last week) and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah have all ended in failure.
