Speaking at the inauguration of an electricity project in Soryon, the soya beans/maize processing plant at Wannune in the Tarka Local Government Area of the state, Ortom said the ban on importation of maize would help farmers in mass cultivation of the crop in the country.

Ortom, who said that the state had comparative advantage in the production of maize, soya beans, yam and rice, urged the people of the state to take advantage of the ban on importation of maize to increase production for wealth creation.

The governor further said that his administration had reconstructed over 1,200 classroom blocks across the state, as well as provided 10,000 chairs and desks for the reconstructed schools.
