The Italian rock signs in one of the blockbuster moves of the Serie A transfer window, although it had already been rumored that the deal would be completed for a long time.
Barely a year ago, Godín was one of the stars of Atletico Madrid. Now, the Uruguayan has left Inter, the club that he stopped over at, and has just signed for Cagliari.
The 34-year-old centre-back arrives at Cagliari on a free transfer. According to the report from ‘Marca’, his wage will be 2.5 million euros a year for the next three seasons that he has signed for.
Godín played 36 matches for Inter this past season, with 31 starts to his name. He scored two goals and got one assist in his 2,800 minutes.
The former Atletico player came close to a title with Inter, but Sevilla defeated the Italian side in the final of the Europa League. Godín himself was one of the scorers in the 3-2 defeat in Cologne.
