Nélson Semedo Open’s Possibilities For Barcelona
It seems that in the end, the pipedream which many had bet on is going to come true. Nélson Semedo is getting closer and closer to leaving for Wolverhampton Wanderers, which would give Barca the chance to go for either Sergiño Dest or Emerson Royal.
It was the longshot that many were betting on, and that on Saturday seemed more improbable than ever, despite the sale of Diogo Jota. Semedo to Wolves to sign another full-back. The options, Dest or Emerson.
Many people believe that the sale of Nélson Semedo to Wolverhampton Wanderers is almost closed. The English club has cash in hand after the sale of Diogo Jota and, although he has signed one full-back, the loss of Doherty could require another.
Everything makes sense when you look into it. Semedo is under Mendes, and Mendes is the main supplier of players to Wolves. Do they really need Semedo having signed Hoever? If Mendes says yes, then yes.
And, according to various sources, the operation could cost around 40 million euros, although his market value is no higher than 27.
If Barcelona were to take on that 40 million (minus Mendes’ commission, of course), they would have money to go for the signing of a full-back. And, according to ‘AS’, there are two options.
One is the well-known Sergiño Dest, Ajax’s American full-back. The other, no less well known, is Emerson Royal, whose ownership is shared with Betis.
