Mark Lawrenson Predicts Winner Of Chelsea vs Liverpool Today

A former Liverpool star, Mark Lawrenson, has predicted Chelsea to play a 1-1 draw with the Reds in today’s Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea head to the game after defeating Brighton 3-1 in their previous fixture last weekend, while Liverpool won 4-3 against Leeds United.

Providing his prediction, Lawrenson told WAPLOADED Sport:

“Chelsea kicked off their campaign with a good win over Brighton while Liverpool’s performance against Leeds was a bit patchier, but with the same result.

“You would not call it a mediocre display by the Reds, because their forwards got four goals, but it was the first time for a while that they were not joined up from front to back.

“It is nothing to worry about as a one-off, though, and in terms of joining things up Thiago Alcantara’s arrival from Bayern Munich will strengthen their midfield. He’s an upgrade on Georginio Wijnaldum, put it that way. Chelsea 1, Liverpool 1.”

The kick-off time for the game is 4:30 pm.
