Messi Believes In Ronald Koeman’s Project
Weeks after confirming he would leave Barcelona, Leo Messi is switched on and motivated ahead of a new season with Ronald Koeman in charge. The Argentine is keener than ever before, ‘Sport’ says.
Leo Messi ended last season at Barca being part of the embarrassing 2-8 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich. That led to him wanting to walk away from the club. Now he is focussing on the new season as he does not have to make a decision on his future until at least January.
According to ‘Sport’, the Argentine has put that anger behind him and he is looking forward to doing well under Ronald Koeman. He is very keen to start things all over again.
The Argentine knows that it will not be easy to adapt to new ideas in the coming weeks, but he understands that the changes the Dutchman is making can help sort out the side’s problems of the past.
A change of attitude from the ’10’ which coincides with his 20th anniversary at the club. He has been through a lot of things at the club in these two decades.
The captain is preparing for 16th season in the first team after more than 700 appearances, more than 600 goals and more than 200 assists. He has been vital for them year after year and Koeman knows he is key to his project.
Since his arrival, he has always prioritised Leo and in the last friendly against Girona, you could see the good relationship there is between Koeman and Messi when the latter was substituted. Messi has put what has happened this summer behind him.
