Trevor Sinclair Reacts To Grealish’s New Aston Villa Deal

Trevor Sinclair has stated on Twitter that Aston Villa have done ‘great work’ by rewarding Jack Grealish with a new five-year deal today.

The former Premier League winger also stated that Emiliano Martinez’s rumoured move to Villa is ‘pending’ and it will all bring ‘big improvements’ to the club.

This is what Sinclair posted on Twitter, as ex-Villa striker Darren Bent also shared his thoughts:

BBC Sport have claimed that Arsenal goalkeeper Martinez will be signing for the West Midlands outfit for a fee in the region of £20 million.

But regardless of who comes through those Villa Park doors this summer, nothing will beat Grealish penning down his long-term future at his boyhood club.

Dean Smith’s side survived relegation on the final day of the Premier League season, with Grealish scoring the decisive goal that kept them in England’s top-tier.

He was by far Villa’s best player, but there was fear amongst the fanbase that they would lose their star man to a club in Europe this summer.

But all of that has now been squashed!

Villa can now focus on the forthcoming Premier League campaign – they take on Sheffield United next Monday, but before that, they face Burton Albion in the League Cup tonight.

Either way, it allows Villa to build and step forward because added with Grealish’s new deal, the imminent arrival of Martinez, the signing of Matty Cash and Ollie Watkins, it provides the club for a platform to now move forward.
