Uti Nwachukwu is a Nigerian TV presenter, event host, actor, model, speaker, musician, and winner of the Big Brother Africa – All-Stars reality show. He owns Kenzie’s beard essential, a grooming product for men.

Uti Nwachukwu Background

Uti Nwachukwu was born on the 3rd of August 1982, to Mr and Mrs Nwachwukwu in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria, as the last child of his family. He hails from the Aboh Kingdom, Ndokwa-East local government area, Delta State.

Uti attended the Igbinedion Education centre for his secondary education. He holds a diploma degree in Computer Science and Education from the University of Nsukka, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Benson Idahosa University, Benin City.

As a child, Uti was gifted and outgoing. His friends usually described him as a prankster because he derived joy in making fun of his friends and family. He was an authority amongst his peers and was known as the one who always had the craziest ideas. Uti loved breaking the rules and would convince his siblings and friends to do the same.

Uti Nwachukwu Career

Uti rose to limelight in the entertainment industry after he won the All-Stars season of Big Brother Africa in 2010. Before his big win, he had featured on the Nigerian reality TV show, the Next Movie Star, where he came second. He also worked in the bank for a while, before he started participating in reality shows.

In 2008, he participated in the Big Brother Africa 3 reality show and was the third housemate to be evicted. He gained a huge fan base, so he returned to the house in 2010 and was known as the housemate who always teased other housemates. At the end of the show, he emerged as the winner and was awarded a cash price of $200,000.

On Uti’s return to Nigeria, he started getting roles and features in big movies and music collaborations. Uti’s fan base kept increasing, and it helped him become the official ambassador of youth for Delta State and the tourism ambassador for Cross River State. Asides acting, Uti has also recorded a few music albums of his own.

Uti’s Music Career

He released his debut album, Go Down in 2010. Music helps Uti cope with problems. Even though fans love his song, Uti doesn’t regard music as a career, but as something, he does for personal pleasure.

Uti’s music style is alternative rock, and he hopes Nigerian rock music fans would fall in love with his music because he’s passionate about it.

He delved into music as a means of self-expression. Uti has released a few albums and is working hard to be named amongst top alternative rock singers in Nigeria.

Uti’s Philanthropic Works

In 2011, Uti and his fan club started the Uti Lead’s the Stars charity project to cater to the needs of widows. The charity uses donations from Uti’s fans and friends to put smiles on the faces of widows. They do this once every year.

He also has a partnership deal with the European Union and the British Council to raise awareness of the stigma of rape. Uti has been able to bring its Sexual Assault Referral Centers (SARC) to different states across Nigeria.
