Harry Edward Kane MBE is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and captains the England national team. He has been selected for the PFA Team of the Year four times.


Early Life

Born to Irish parents in London, Harry Kane grew up in an environment, where football was the order of the day. His home was just five miles away from Tottenham Hotspurs’ former stadium, White Hart Lane. That love of football was imbibed by Harry Kane from a tender age. While he sort to play football, Kane didn’t do it at the expense of his education. As a result, he went on to attend Larkswood Primary Academy and Chingford Foundation School.

After returning to Ridgeway, he moved on to Watford academy, before he had a trial with the Spurs who then decided to keep young Kane.

When Kane turned 16, he penned a scholarship deal with Tottenham. He then played for the club’s U-18 side in the 2010 season, was sent on loan to Leyton Orient for the 2011 season before he made his debut for Spurs in the summer of 2011. Even after his debut for Spurs’ senior side, he was loaned to Millwall where he spent the 2012 season. Kane impressed at Millwall and was awarded the Millwall’s Young Player of the Year award. In the summer of 2012, he was sent on loan to Norwich, before he was recalled and sent on to Leicester City. 

It was until the 2014/15 seasons, Harry Kane became a regular for the Spurs team in EPL fixtures. Harry Kane performed incredibly well that season, registering 21 goals that season and thus was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year award. The next season, Kane’s performance improved even better as he led the league in goals and was named the season’s Golden Boot winner. He repeated the feat in the 2017 season and also led Spurs to finish second in the league. For the 2017/18 season, Kane’s goalscoring ability was on point. He finished top in the goalscoring chart for all top leagues in Europe, beating Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to achieve the feat.

His impressive goalscoring ability thus made him the spurs top goalscorer in the EPL. Following his impressive performance that season, Real Madrid attempted to sign the young star, but the Spurs convinced Harry Kane to pen a six-year deal which will see him earn £200,000 every week. That salary made him one of Tottenham Hotspurs’ top earners as it was about twice his previous salary. He showed he worth the huge salary Tottenham delivered in 2018, but leading his side to the 2019 Champions League final, where he had to wait on the sidelines as a result of an injury. In January of the 2020 season, he suffered a hamstring injury.
