Richard Mofe-Damijo popularly known as RMD is a Nigerian actor, writer, producer, and lawyer. In 2008, he was appointed a special adviser, and in 2009, he became an honorable commissioner of culture and tourism in Delta State. He is a legend in the movie industry.
RMD Early Life
Richard was born on July 6, 1961 in Aldja, Udu LGA, Delta State. He attended Midwest College, Warri, and Anglican Grammar School. He further moved to University of Benin, where he studied Theatre Arts and graduated in 1983. Later on, he attended the University of Lagos where he studied Law, graduated in 2004, and was called to the Nigerian bar in 2005.
RMD Early Career
Richard started his acting career by performing in the drama club in his high school. Later, he started reporting for Concord Newspapers, Metro Magazine and The Guardian. In his 30s, he published and sold Nigeria’s first all-gloss magazine for men titled Mister. Mofe also featured in a television soap opera called Ripples after he graduated from school. Also, he wrote and produced his first film, Out of Bounds.
RMD Personal Life
Richard married Jumobi Adegbesan, a television personality in 2000. He was once married to May Ellen-Ezekiel (MEE), a Nigerian journalist/publisher who died in 1996. RMD is blessed with 4 children.
