APC reacts as Edo’s Obaseki defects to PDP
Coming after Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki defected to PDP, the All Progressives congress, APC has reacted to the news.
It was reported earlier on that Godwin Obaseki, officially joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Many had expected this move since Governor Obaseki resigned from the APC on the 16 of June 2020.
This was made known moments back by Obaseki himself, when he led some of his appointees and supporters to the PDP secretariat in Benin-City.
Reacting to the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated that he was not surprised by the move, as they had expected it since June 16th.
Kemi Filani News recalls that Obaseki resigned from the APC after it’s screening committee disqualified him from the June 22 governorship primary.
The NWC last Saturday affirmed his disqualification by the screening and appeal committees inaugurated by his political “Enemy” dams Oshiohmole.
