The state warned that it would not condone any fake permits obtained through fraudulent means.

During its enforcement operations, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development said the sealed buildings were erected without the government’s certification.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako who led the enforcement operation said the properties were sealed due to lack of Planning Permit, demolition permit and stage certification.

The Commissioner said the state government was determined not to allow willful violation of the Physical Planning laws of Lagos State.

He warned developers and property owners to desist from engaging quacks or charlatans in obtaining Planning Permits as the State Government was prepared to crack down heavily on fake permit peddlers.

“The Lagos State Government would not take it easy with developers and or property owners who do not obtain the planning permit for building their houses.

“You should go through the right channels and desist from engaging quacks. The government will not tolerate fake permit peddlers,”

He warned.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban Development, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba urged all stakeholders in the building environment to follow due process by contacting the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) for Planning Permit and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) for Stage certification at every stage of construction.
