National Population Council recorded 9,000 unwanted pregnancies in the course of the 3 weeks partial lockdown

The National Population Council has revealed that there has been an increase in the number of unwanted pregnancies following the 3 weeks partial lockdown in Ghana, e.g Accra, Kumasi and Kasoa.

According to the Executive Director of the National Population Council, Dr Leticia Adelaide Appiah on TV3’s Pandemic show, the lockdown has increased the number of pregnancies in Ghana within the last 3 weeks.

She stated that there have been 9,000 unwanted pregnancies due to parts of Ghana that were partially locked down for a period of just three weeks.

So far 1,671 cases have been confirmed by the Ghana Health Service with 16 death and 188 recoveries.
