Shock As Police Inspector Is Strangled To Death In Imo

A police officer's death has shocked his colleagues in Imo state after he was found strangled.

A police inspector, Haruna Kawura attached to Imo State government house, Owerri has been strangled to death.

According to reports, he was found dead on Tuesday along Avana Primary School Road, Shell Camp in Owerri, the state capital.

The inspector, Haruna Kawura’s death was not natural as the deceased was strangulated to death.

The lifeless body of the inspector was riddled with bruises raising suspicion that he was killed.

The inspector was said to have gone out for drinks on Monday night and only to be found lying dead on Tuesday morning.

A colleague of the deceased said that the corpse of the inspector was evacuated in an ambulance from the government house.

He said “The victim is Haruna Kawura. He was an inspector of police. He was demobbed from mobile police in the North and was posted to Imo state and was later posted to Imo government house.

“His death was strange. There were bruises on his body. He must have been strangulated as there was gunshot on his body.”

When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the killing and disclosed that investigation had commenced on the matter.
