The Smoking King Oluwo Of Iwo Condemns Police Brutality On Woman
Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, on Saturday, condemned the beating of a woman, Tola Azeez, in Odo Ori, Iwo by a policeman identified as Ikuesan.
Oba Akanbi in a statement sent to our correspondent said police leadership had assured of justice.
“The act and action of the police against an Iwo woman, Tola Azeez, is condemned. It is unacceptable and barbaric display. Iwo is civilized beyond such incivility.
“The palace has time immemorial device necessary machinery to ensure the community and the police co-habit peacefully for effective security.
I have intervened, the police have gone to her place with the DPO of the affected division to tender their apology formally. I urge the citizen to be peaceful and let the matter be handled maturely according to the law in the best interest of the town,” Oba Akanbi said.
Police Public Relations Officer for Osun Command, Yemisi Opalola, when contacted pleaded for time and promised to get back.
