2face Idibia, Funmi Iyanda, others present as EIE announces election debate series for 2015

Ahead of the forth coming 2015 general elections, advocacy group, Enough is Enough Nigeria(EiE Nigeria) has announced plans for the election debate series. Tagged ‘The People’s Debate,‘ the series will hold ahead of the February general elections and the debate series has been created to position voters at the centre of the democratic process by reinforcing the narrative that elections and governance are about the people.

According to popular broadcaster, Funmi Iyanda, ‘This platform is meant to constitute itself into an effective opposition to governance, not just at the point of election but throughout their terms in office.’

The Presidential Debate will be moderated by Channels TV boss, John Momohin his first return to TV in at least 5 years and is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Abuja. It will be broadcast live onChannels TVand streamed live on Nigeria Info 99.3 FMand online via a Google Hangout as well as on Youtube.

EIE Nigeria also revealed that it’ll co-host 6 governorship debates in each geo-political zone:Lagos, Rivers, Imo, Kaduna, Taraba & Plateau, with the first one being in Plateau tomorrow, Saturday, January 24, 2015 with the APC, LP & PDP candidates billed to be present.

Other stakeholders involved who were present at the unveiling event include General Manager of Channels TV,Kayode Akintemi; 2Face Idibiaand his wife, Annie Idibia; Kemi Lala Akindojuamong others.
