Organisers of Creative Industry Awards call for nominations

Nominations have been declared open for the 2015 Creative Industry Awardsby the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria.

The move is in its continued bid to discover and motivate practitioners in the Nigerian creative industry.

Supported by the British Council, this award rewards initiative, talent, creativity and entrepreneurship across the creative industries, recognising the central role they play in the development of a competitive and sustainable creative economy.
According to the Director General the association,Wale Ewedemi, the award brings out creative and cultural elements that don’t usually see the limelight while sensitizing the Nigerian creative sector to the opportunities that bound in Nigeria. ‘This year we look forward to your nominations, hoping to discover those that have taken the creative bull by the horn and stamped their footprints on the sand of time,’ he stated.
At the 2014 edition, film producer and Director, Kunle Afolayanwas crowned the Creative Entrepreneur of the Year. Previous winners at the awards include Chris Obosiof Megalectrics, owners of The Beat FM, Classic FM and Naija FM, andWale Adenugaof Wale Adenuga Productions and WAP TV.

The 2015 winners will be announced at the Creative Industry Awards Dinner on January 24, 2015.
