Sony ends FIFA World Cup sponsorship over bidding controversy

Sony Corporation has taken a decision to end its £178m FIFA World Cup sponsorship deal over the bidding controversy trailing the next two tournaments awarded to Qatar and Russia.
According to reports, Sony, whose current deal with FIFA was due to expire at the end of this year, took the decision to stop being associated with the body due to the several charges and accusations of bribery and corruption levelled against the world’s football governing body.
