Sunderland relegated from the Premier League

Sunderland have been relegated from the English Premier League, following their 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats went into the fixture, knowing that they will be relegated from the Premier League if they do not match Hull’s result at Southampton.

However, Joshua King struck with two minutes left, to confirm that David Moyes’ men will play in the Championship next season.

Relegation means that their 10-season spell in the top flight has come to an end.

For the visitors, it is confirmation that they remain up – Bournemouth and Eddie Howe secure another season in the Premier League, at the expense of their opponents.
