Pat Nevin reckons Chelsea star Victor Moses could play upfront against Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge this summer following three seasons out on loan.
And he was expected to be sold by Antonio Conte as the Italian freshened up the squad he inherited from Jose Mourinho.
However, Moses has been able to secure a starting berth as a right wing-back in his gaffer’s new look 3-4-3 system.
And Nevin says that versatility may play into his hands in Diego Costa’s absence on Boxing Day. The hitman will miss the Cherries visit to west London through suspension.
And, writing for Chelsea’s official website, Nevin has suggested a tongue-in-cheek replacement for the former Atletico Madrid star.
After considering Eden Hazard and Pedro for the position, the Blues hero said: “Maybe Conte will have found out that Victor Moses has the ability to do that central role as well.”
Chelsea sit top of the Premier League ahead of their showdown with Bournemouth. They can extend their lead at the summit to nine points if they win and results elsewhere go their way.
